Tippers is pleased to announce the acquisition of Plumbing World, marking a significant milestone in the continued growth of the Midlands’ leading independent builders & plumbers merchant.
The ownership of Plumbing World has moved from one family to another, bringing together two established, independent, family-run businesses, united by shared values, long-term thinking and a commitment to serving the trade.
It will be business as usual for Plumbing World, which will continue to trade under its existing brand name, with its current team, customer relationships and supplier partnerships remaining unchanged.
Based in Rowley Regis, Plumbing World is a well-respected independent plumbing and heating merchant, serving both local trade and retail customers. The business also has a strong national ecommerce presence through platforms including PlumbingWorld.co.uk, LowCostPlumbingSupplies.co.uk & ShowerTraysUK.co.uk supplying plumbing, heating and bathroom products across the UK.

Founded in 1916, Tippers will celebrate 110 years in business in 2026 and is now proudly run by the fourth and fifth generations of the Tipper family. Today, the business operates 15 branches across the Midlands, employs over 320 people, and is recognised as one of the region’s leading independent builders and plumbers merchants.
This acquisition further strengthens Tippers’ presence in the plumbing, heating and bathroom sector, while reinforcing its long-standing commitment to remaining independent, family-owned and customer-focused.
