Tippers.com helps Le Web participants exchange useful tips

December 9, 2010 Leave a comment

Tippers.com is a brand new social shopping platform that allows users to share tips and shopping recommendations with Facebook friends.

Did you ever come to a new city and have no idea where to get a GOOD meal? Did you find yourself wandering from one tourist attraction to another, wishing you had a local voice leading you somewhere different?
The Le Web conference will host thousands of participants from around the globe. Many of these participants are not Parisians and do not know what are the hottest, must-see places in Paris.

The Tippers.com community decided to address this need and help the Le Web participants coming from abroad learn what fun, interesting things the city has to offer. Tippers offers Le Web participants a place to share tips of cool things to do in Paris. These tips and recommendations did not come from any travel book or travel review websites, these are real tips from participants who know the city! For the past two weeks, the Le Web Tippers Facebook profile enabled participants to share tips on great restaurants, cool bars, must-see places and fun, unique activities in Paris.

For example a great bike trip along the quaint city streets that will help you discover some of Paris’ most magical places or a wonderful underground Jazz Club for a true jazz experience. In order to make this information even more accessible, Tippers is sending to the conference participants emails with daily recommendations directly from the Le Web Tippers Facebook wall.
Tippers believes that tips from friends and colleagues are worth a lot more than tips from unknown sources and research verifies this belief.  According to Edelman’s Annual Trust Barometer, 58% say that friends and family are an “extremely” or “very” credible source of information.

Tippers is a free browser add-on that allows users to share tips, reviews and shopping recommendations with Facebook friends on restaurants, movies, travel, electronics and much more. Users get tips while browsing their favorite sites such as Google, Amazon, Yelp, IMDb and other popular websites. Tippers is compatible with Firefox and Internet Explorer and takes 40 seconds to install.
