On Wednesday the 20th of October, a small piece of history arrived in Tamworth as NGB graciously donated part of the running track from the London 2012 Olympic Games to Tamworth Athletics Club.

Andy Day, the England Athletics Team Competitions Manager liaised with NGB and Paul Tasker, Chairman of Tamworth Athletics Club to organise the donation and to make this all possible. Leigh Wilson, the manager at Tippers in Tamworth and driver Mark Neale kindly donated their time and resources by delivering the Olympic track directly to the Athletics Club for free. Chairman of Tamworth Athletics Club, Paul Tasker has been working tirelessly to help provide for the community during the pandemic through the athletics club, and this generous donation will help serve as inspiration for all who step on it.
